VAUXHALL's revamped Vectra will be available in UK showrooms from October.
The car maker has given its upper-medium mainstay a makeover in an attempt to shake-off its somewhat staid image and make it more identifiable with the brand's new family look that was established by the latest Astra — a model widely recognised as sportier than its predecessor.
Vauxhall said the new Vectra was “all new from the windscreen onwards”. It also has a revised range of engines with “significantly improved driving dynamics”.
At the top of the Vectra range the flagship Elite model will be powered by a new 2.8-litre turbocharged V6 engine mated to a six-speed auto gearbox. A new 1.8-litre petrol engine will be introduced in spring next year while the other biggest sellers in the line-up will continue to be the two 1.9CDTi turbodiesel units.
Hatchback, saloon and estate derivatives will be available from launch and prices will be released next month.
