FAST-FIT CHAIN Kwik-Fit is piloting a multi-million pound facelift of its centres.
The company is refurbishing the forecourts, reception areas and workshops at 20 sites and will assess feedback from customers before deciding if the initiative will get a nationwide rollout.
Kwik-Fit has also invested more than £3m on new equipment, including MoT emissions test kit, video tyre balancers and the latest laser Supertracker wheel-aligners.
Fleet sales director Mike Wise, who has been in charge of all the chain's fast-fit activities since last summer, was optimistic that the improvements would be well received.
He said: “Once a roll-out decision has been made, the refurbishment programme will take about two years to complete with an investment of about £75,000 at each location.
“The focus is on making centres more customer friendly because visits to centres are mostly unplanned and we want to make motorists as comfortable as possible.”
