Kia gives Slovakia the go-ahead

South Korean conglomerate Hyundai has chosen Slovakia as the site for its new £466m Kia car plant.

The northern city of Zilina beat a Polish location in the contest for the investment. The factory is set to open in 2006 and will produce up to 200,000 Kia vehicles a year.
